Narrator: This year UNO held the second annual fashion show for Style Proud. Style Proud aims to bridge the gap between students and local fashion professionals through a ‘Project Runway’ inspired fashion show. There were Five local high schools in attendance including Benson, Bryan, Central, Millard North and the featured school Omaha North.
This year UNO students helped put the event together.
Garret davis was on of those students involved.
Davis: “The event was a great success! We started the day by giving the high school students tours of UNO. We then had a panel of local fashion experts talk to the high school students about their careers. We finished the day with a project runway style fashion show.”
Narrator: This year Omaha North High School chose the theme of “Recycle, Redesign, Reuse”. The students took old items of clothing and transformed them into creations that give their designs new life.
Prior to the runway show finale, high school students were able to prepare themselves for their future by networking with local designers and other career professionals.
